April 6, 2019 - Bob Hostetler, Author & Literary Agent with The Steve Laube Agency (Q&A): Do you need an agent? What does an agent do, anyway? What types of things will you be responsible for if you don’t have an agent? Get your questions answered and learn more about the publishing industry. Bob is a thirty-year veteran of Christian publishing. He has been a writer, magazine editor, freelance book editor, and author of fifty books, both fiction and non-fiction. A frequent speaker at writers conferences and retreats around the world, he has encouraged and coached numerous writers to publishing success. May 11, 2019 - Amy Green, Fiction Publicist for Bethany House: Do you have questions about traditional publishing? What does a publisher expect of a writer? What does a fiction publicist do? Get your questions answered by an expert. Amy Green has been the fiction publicist at Bethany House Publishers since 2013. Her typical day might involve planning book tours handling media requests, interacting with reviewers, answering author questions about marketing, and other tasks designed to introduce readers to great books. She blogs every Thursday.

June 8, 2019 - Lori Roeleveld, Soul Care for the Creative Christian: multi-published author, speaker, and disturber of hobbits, blogger, and Jesus-follower. Making comfortable Christians continually late for dinner. Part-time giant-slayer, she says this of herself. “ I write for all of us who have been unsettled from comfortable places and moved to follow Jesus into the adventure of our times. I, like you, seek the courage and confidence to carry on for Christ.”

July 13, 2019 - Kathy Perry, “Must-Haves for Author Websites”, multi-published children’s book author and builder of several websites. Kathy uses traditional watercolor for her books’ illustrations and she has her own publishing company, Chickadee Words. Her blog, Chickadee Cheer, is an interactive blog for parents and teachers to share with kids. She is thrilled to speak with kids at author visits and workshops in local elementary schools.

October 12, 2019 - Dan Schwabauer, “Conflict: How Understanding Levels of Conflict Can Help Generate Story Ideas”, multi-published author, speaker, instructor: Dan is an award-winning author and teacher. He is the creator of The One Year Adventure Novel. His professional work includes stage plays, radio scripts, short stories, newspaper columns, comic books, and scripting for the PBS animated series Auto-B-Good. His young adult novels, Runt the Brave and Runt the Hunted, have received numerous awards, including the 2005 Ben Franklin Award and the 2008 Eric Hoffer Award.

November 9, 2019 - Stephanie Morrill, “Writing Beyond the Novel”, multi-published author: We’ll cover the craft of writing pitch sentences, back cover copy, blog posts, social media posts, professional emails, and synopses. Stephanie writes books about girls who are on an adventure to discover their unique place in the world. She is the author of several contemporary young adult series, as well as a 1920’s mystery, and a WWII era romance. Since 2010, Stephanie has been encouraging the next generation of writers on her website, GoTeenWriters.com.
